College of Medicine Web Updates

NOTE: Adjusted service levels in effect

Please note that at least through April 30, requests to Penn State College of Medicine's Web Solutions team may take longer to process due to needs related to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). COVID requests will be prioritized above any other requests.

Please allow an additional week from what is listed as the standard service-level time for the completion of your request if it is not related to COVID-19.

Standard service levels

Most requests will be completed within 10 working days, dependent upon level of effort and scope. Requests should be submitted with this timeframe of two business weeks in mind.

We understand there will be "emergency" updates requested, and we will do our best to get those in as quickly as possible.

If the request is a major change, we may need to gather more information before beginning work.

Some examples of changes

  • Routine requests: Edits to text content; new content to be added to existing pages; updates to existing forms (completed within 10 working days)
  • Emergency requests: Regulatory or compliance-related changes; staff changes due to termination (completed within 2 business days)
  • Major functionality changes: New pages; new forms; large documents to be converted to web format; significant changes to images (timelines to be determined based on level of effort; requesters will be contacted with details if this applies, generally within a month)

What Needs To Be Updated

Continuing Education Update
Please only include changes made at one URL per request item. If you need changes made at more than one URL, use the "Add another update" link. If you're adding new programs to the list and updating others, please only include the updates in one request item and a separate item for each new program.

If you're uploading a photo to be used, please give it to us at the highest possible quality in .jpg format.

If you're making textual changes, it is best to provide those in the body of the form above. If you must attach a file, it needs to be a text document (.doc, .docx, .rtf, .txt), not PDF.

Please note that we cannot post PowerPoint presentations, PDFs or .doc files directly to the website because they are not accessible. The same is also true for complicated graphics, regardless of format.

News Items

Please try to think of the 4 Ws: Who is this about? Where did this happen? When did (or will) this happen? Why is this important?

Please provide a name, a brief understanding of who the person is (student, faculty, community member, etc.) as well as a way we can get in touch. Multiple points of contact are welcomed!

Events Calendar
Individual programs and departments may request access to add events to the central calendar. Feeds from this system appear on the Lions' Eyes around campus, on our various websites and in a unified calendar view at https://pennstatehealthnews.org/events. Upon account creation, you will receive an email with instructions on how to post events.

This is what is used to log in to the calendar. It is usually the person's initials and a two-, three- or four-digit number, such as abc123. If you want to request access for multiple people, please include all Access IDs, separated by a comma.

Note that, once approved, users can submit events on any topic; however, certain default instructions are provided depending on your program.
