Call for In Person Podium Presentations: 30th Annual Pennsylvania Immunization Conference (PIC 2026)

We invite you to submit an abstract to be an in-person presenter at the 30th Annual Pennsylvania Immunization Conference. You may submit more than one abstract.

This call is for in-person, podium presenters only. 


Each year, the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Bureau of Immunizations (BOI) and Penn State College of Medicine hosts an annual continuing medical education (CME) conference to bring statewide immunization providers, partners, stakeholders together to learn, network, and become more involved in immunizations. Topics include current and new vaccines, data and trends, research and case studies, motivational personal stories with immunizations, and effective and tangible, innovative clinical and non-clinical policies, interventions, strategies, communications, tools, and resources that our attendees may utilize to address barriers and challenges to be successful in increasing immunizations from vaccine preventable diseases (VPDs) for a Healthy Pennsylvania for All.


The agenda includes national, state, and local subject matter expert speakers with focus on vaccine-related topics across the lifespan. 


On Thursday, June 18th, 2026, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the 30th Annual Pennsylvania Immunization Conference (PIC 2026), will be held at the Hershey Lodge, Hershey, PA. This conference will have over 500 participants combined, attending in-person and virtually (live webinar). Attendees include, but not limited to, family physicians, pediatricians, epidemiologists, pharmacists, physicians’ assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, school nurses, practice and clinic managers and staff, public health staff, medical assistants, health educators, medical students, residents, professional organizations and associations, hospitals, health centers, academia, coalitions, community-based organizations, and other professionals working with immunizations.


The call for in-person presenter abstracts submission deadline is January 6, 2026. Chosen presenters will be notified by January 20, 2026.

Presenter Abstract Guidelines


Topics should feature the latest advances and research about practice, technology and healthcare delivery in new topics, data and trends, strategies, resources to overcome issues and challenges to be successful in increasing immunizations from vaccine preventable diseases (VPDs) for a Healthy Pennsylvania for All. Presentations are 45 minutes, including the last 5-10 minutes for questions.

 

To submit a research abstract:


Step 1: Prepare the abstract in Microsoft Word. Abstracts should be double spaced and 12 font. All abstracts must contain the following components:

  • Presentation Title
  • Presenter(s) - Include name, credentials, healthcare background, prior speaking experience
  • Session Description (300 words or less) - A brief description of the content to be presented and why it is clinically relevant.
  • Learning Objectives - Provide two or three outcomes that complete the statement: "By the end of this session the participant will be able to":

The ACCME Standards for Integrity and Independence require that we disqualify individuals who refuse to provide this information from involvement in the planning and implementation of accredited continuing education.
