Academic Support and Student Resources

The Competency Progress Committee (CPC) serves as a consultative committee to help ensure that MD students can achieve each competency and sub-competency. For any competency or sub-competency in which a potential gap is identified, the CPC recommends opportunities for addressing the gap.

Cognitive Skills Program (CSP) provides comprehensive cognitive skills development and learning support to medical students. The CSP offers workshops, interactive learning sessions, and individual support for exploring content, processes and thinking skills to maximize students success. The CSP also provides remediation services for students who are struggling academically, and can help to arrange peer-to-peer tutoring services.

The Office for Professional Mental Health is to meet the needs of PSCOM students with compassion, honesty, and confidentiality. All issues are taken seriously – no problem is “too small” to talk about. Appointments should be made by contacting the PMH office by email or phone.

Disability Services: In order to provide students with disabilities every educational opportunity, disability services will make reasonable accommodations in accordance with Section 504 Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act to ensure full academic involvement while attending PSCOM.

Counseling, Advising & Anatomy Support: Please work with your longitudinal academic counselor to identify resources that can benefit you. Please reach out to Drs. Evan Goldman/Craig Goodmurphy for anatomy support and resources.
